Quick answer: Open each affected chat and confirm its Memory Group assignment. Sharing is based on the same companion and the same group; private chats remain isolated. A chat that was never assigned to the group cannot use its memories.
Map the chats and scopes first
List the companion, chat name, and selected memory scope for every affected conversation. Confirm whether you expect isolation or sharing. Memory Groups are designed for multiple chats with the same companion, not universal memory across every character.
If a saved entry exists but is not recalled within the correct scope, use the recall guide.

Test one fact across two chats
- Choose two chats assigned to the same Memory Group.
- Confirm the same companion in both.
- Save or locate one neutral test fact.
- Verify the entry in the memory panel.
- Ask for it in the second chat.
- Compare with a private chat that should remain isolated.
Do not delete or reassign multiple chats during the test.
Use a fact that is not already present in the recent conversation. Otherwise the second chat may answer from short-term context and make a broken group assignment look healthy.
Read sharing and isolation as separate outcomes
Recall in the shared chats but not the private chat means the scopes are separating as intended. No recall in either shared chat points to saving, assignment, or recall. Unexpected recall in a private chat may come from recent conversation context or another saved fact, not necessarily group leakage.

Handle group-chat scope carefully
Group chats configure memory per companion, and an assigned Memory Group can become locked for that member. For a group-specific reset or configuration problem, use the group memory guide.
Send support the chat names, companion, group names, expected sharing behavior, and screenshots of assignments without exposing unrelated memory content.
