Quick answer: Review the character’s appearance fields and generated previews before spending on more media. If the profile looks correct but later images drift, test one simple portrait and treat the problem as image consistency. Current official rules prohibit creating a custom character based on a real person.
Separate character setup from image-generation drift
If the character profile or creation previews already show the wrong appearance, return to the setup fields. If those previews are consistent but a complex generation changes the face, body, or style, use the image-consistency guide. A scene that is accurate in a simple portrait but unstable with several people or actions points to generation complexity rather than a broken character profile.

Review the current setup before spending more
- Check the selected gender, realistic or anime style, physical features, voice, name, age, and location.
- Remove appearance details that conflict with one another.
- Review the generated appearance previews and choose the closest consistent result.
- Follow the current Advanced or group-image setup shown in the character settings when those features are needed.
- Test one simple portrait before a complex scene.
- Do not create or submit the likeness of a real person.
The official Custom Characters guide says real-person characters are prohibited and may be deleted without a refund.
Compare the profile with one controlled generation
Keep the first comparison simple: one character, clear lighting, a neutral pose, and no crowded background. If that image matches but a detailed scene does not, change one scene variable at a time. If the requested scene rather than the character identity is wrong, use the image-adherence guide.

Report a repeatable setup failure
Provide the character name or identifier, the appearance settings used, the simple test settings, and examples showing the same mismatch. Do not send photos of real people or unrelated private media.
The changelog has previously mentioned custom-character consistency and validation fixes. Those historical entries do not promise a particular visual result today.
