The first release created a creator-facing identity layer
The v5.7.0 announcement focused on users who already had public custom characters. It added profile setup, the ability to showcase selected generations, and following. The release note also warned that profiles were not easy to discover unless someone shared the link.
That discovery limitation is historical context, not a description to copy into every current guide. The current Wiki says users can reach a creator from a public character page and gives each profile a public username URL.

Public does not mean everything becomes visible
Current controls are item-specific. Images and videos appear only after their visibility is turned on, and only Custom Characters with Public status appear in the Characters tab. Private chats, private media, and private characters are not listed on the profile according to the official documentation.
Before publishing, use the profile setup and item-visibility checklist and review each pinned item in a logged-out browser. Turning off the profile is different from deleting media: deactivation hides browsing while preserving followers and following, whereas deleting an image removes it from the profile and highlighted section.
Highlighted content changed how creators present a profile
The current system allows up to 12 highlighted images or videos and supports drag-and-drop ordering. That turns the profile into a curated portfolio rather than an automatic feed. A useful selection should represent the creator’s actual work without exposing work-in-progress media, private story context, or accidental personal information.
Who gains the most from this update
- Creators publishing original Custom Characters.
- Users who want to share selected image or video generations.
- People building a consistent public identity around several characters or media themes.
- Users who are comfortable maintaining visibility settings over time.
People using Secrets AI only for private conversations do not need a profile. The feature is optional and should not be treated as a requirement for using companions.
Privacy checks should happen before promotion
A public username, avatar, bio, media selection, and character catalog can reveal more context together than each item reveals alone. Creators should also distinguish profile visibility from character approval. A media item can be made visible from its own control, while a Custom Character needs Public status before it appears in the profile’s Characters tab. Sharing a private character link is another state and should not be treated as public discovery.
